Cooking with Kids: Pasta with Lidia Bastianich

Done right, pasta is healthy and delicious. We’re talking about modest portions, cooked correctly and combined with a sauce featuring vegetables, protein and a little grated cheese.

On a visit to Eataly in New York City, Lidia Bastianich – chef, author and television host – teaches the kids how to shop for and make a great pasta dish.

Lidia shows the kids how to make (and fall in love with) Cappellini con Zucca, Pollo e Grana (Cappellini with Spaghetti Squash, Chicken and Grana Padano Cheese). They help prep the squash, and learn about pasta shapes, salting the cooking water, and how to match a sauce with a pasta. Then they dig right in.
