Peeling and Chopping Fresh Ginger



Step 1
To peel fresh ginger easily, it’s key to start with a piece that’s very fresh.

Step2
Break off a knob that’s a manageable size.

Step 3
Using the edge of a spoon, scrape away the peel–it will come off effortlessly.

Step 4
Square off the peeled piece of ginger with your knife.

Step 5
Lay the ginger flat side down against your work surface and cut it into slices.

Step 6
Cut the slices into thin strips (julienne).

Step 7
You can also cut the julienne strips into a fine dice and then mince.
